Explanation of Tryouts
Each year a new group of kids will tryout for the first time. With that usually comes a lot of questions from parents and kids about what to expect for their first tryout. This can make kids more nervous than they need to be as it is just baseball. Come out and have some fun. Please note tryouts are only for our Major, Minor and Farm divisions.

Tryout Process
In general the tryout process has each participant perform four to five different baseball drills in order for coaches to understand the skill level of your child. Later on, the coaches will then take turns picking players to build their team based on the performance of the players during tryouts.
First Drill: Running
All kids will run the bases. They will run through first first time and second time they will run to second base.
Second Drill: Fly Balls
Kids will get around 3 fly balls in the outfield delivered by a machine or coach. If your child is not ready to catch fly balls it's fine for them to let the ball drop and pick it up off the ground.
Third Drill: Ground Balls
Kids will move to the shortstop position and receive 3 ground balls that they will field and throw to first base. They will then change position to first base to catch the balls from shortstop.
Fourth Drill: Hitting and Running
Kids will get 5 pitches to hit. On the last pitch whether they hit the ball or not they will run around the bases as fast as they can. Kids will get split into two groups. One group will hit and one group will collect balls in the field.
Fifth Drill: Pitching (Optional)
Each kid will attempt to pitch 4 baseballs
